Who is Hansjörg Wyss?

Well, lucky for us, Hansjörg Wyss is a retired billionaire set up to help mend the planet’s most fractured natural areas with a new campaign - Wyss Campaign for Nature, a special project by the Wyss Foundation that aims to conserve and protect 30% of the planet’s land and oceans by 2030, which would double the amount currently under protection.

Recycled Orchestra of Cateura

Environmental engineer Favio Chavez, now music teacher, enlisted the help of Nicolas Gomez a trash picker turned instrument maker, to provide kids and teenagers from the village of Cateura, Paraguay the opportunity to experience an alternative to the life their parents had. With violins made with metal cans, cellos built from oil containers and a drumhead fashioned from discarded X-ray film, Mr. Chávez and his students formed the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura.
