natural heritage project - call for artists

The Natural Heritage Project would like to invite you to participate! Are you an artist interested in making an impact for land, water and wildlife conservation and education? The Natural Heritage Project is open to all artists; from sculptors to painters, photographers, collage artists or writers. Are you a muralist, performance artist, or musician? All are welcome!

 
 

BIRDS OF A FEATHER

Seeking artists interested in creating original two-dimensional art reflecting the beauty and significance of all migratory birds that make their way along the Saint Croix River Valley in Minnesota & Wisconsin each year. For this exhibition, in participation with the Natural Heritage Project, each artist will include a 500-word statement explaining why you chose your bird and what makes its relationship to the river unique.

Seeking skilled artists in both two and three-dimensions that work primarily with wood, either as a raw material, an inspiration, and everything else in between. This includes but in not limited to: wood turning, carving, woodblock printing, paper arts, functional art, forest themed photography, and so much more! Warning, this is no ordinary exhibition. Each artist selected to participate will be provided with unique GPS coordinates and asked to commit to one hour immersed in the assigned environment (don't worry, you will have an opportunity to let us know your preferred method of transport and we will find the perfect coordinates just for you).
